I make one gallon at a time, using only malt extract and hops for wort. I bottle the stuff in growlers. I can be finished in under 2 hours, which includes time for brewing kombucha and cleaning the kitchen while the wort is boiling. Last week, I brewed a batch while getting the kids ready for school and was done by 9 am. What a feeling of accomplishment! The beer ferments with dry (cheap) yeast at basement temperature for a week or more. It's growler conditioned for another week. Then it tastes just right: "it's got some bite," said Carrie.
