The faculty at Wartburg Seminary (where I teach) is reflecting on where we’ve been and where we’re going. A few weeks ago, we asked "What kind of church does this world need?" We followed up by asking more generally, "What is church?"
As we consider your responses, our next question is about forming leaders for church today. So we ask:
"What kind of seminary does the church need?"
If the word "seminary" sounds overly specific, please remember that seminary literally means a seedbed. So we might re-frame the question this way:
"What kind of seedbed will raise up strong life for future church?"
In a word or more, you're welcome to share ideas on my Facebook page, discuss the topic in your social media circles, or respond by email: [email protected].
You are also welcome to become a reporter yourself, sharing this question with people around you. You can email individual or collective responses to me at the address above.
Wartburg's faculty will include these insights in our next discussions and planning sessions.
Thanks & peace,
Dr. Martin Lohrmann
